Florida Institute of Oceanography

FLRACEP’s mission, organization and policies are described in the
Program Rules and Policies.

Mission Statement:

The RESTORE Act regulations and Treasury guidelines require that the FLRACEP seek to engage a broad cross-section of participants with interest and expertise in science, technology, and monitoring (RESTORE Act regulations, sub-part H, section §34.704) in at least one of the eligible “priority disciplines.” Based on a required 45 day public scoping process, Program Management Team input, and available funding, FLRACEP will focus on:

1. Coastal fisheries and wildlife ecosystem research and monitoring in the Gulf Coast Region; and
2. Comprehensive observation, monitoring, and mapping of the Gulf of Mexico.
