Peyton Lebron recently graduated with a Bachelors in Environmental Science & Policy at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. He joined FIO in the spring of 2021 as a student assistant and has been a “jack of all trades” at FIO, whether it be filing or special projects in the office or the occasional work in the marine warehouse. Peyton has also completed an internship with USF’s College of Marine Science with the Ocean Circulation lab. There, he was able to gain valuable experience prepping research buoys and bottom mounts to be deployed using FIO’s research vessels, the R/V Weatherbird II and the R/V W.T. Hogarth in the Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay, and Dry Tortugas. In his free time, Peyton likes to fish, visit nature parks and is an avid nature photographer.
