Biography

Sydney Tritschler is a proud USF alumna who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and a minor in Environmental Science & Policy. She has a strong background in field research and tropical marine ecology and has been part of the Florida Institute of Oceanography team since 2022 after first being introduced to the institution through a marine field studies course.
 
Sydney is an AAUS Scientific Diver and has conducted field research throughout Florida and internationally, including in Fiji, Palau, Indonesia, Curaçao, the British Virgin Islands, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Through these experiences, she has participated in ecological monitoring and marine research efforts across a variety of coastal and coral reef ecosystems.
 
As Science Coordinator at FIO, Sydney supports research operations, student engagement initiatives, and outreach efforts while working closely with scientists, vessel operations teams, and researchers across Florida’s marine science network.
